ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION AND ITS CAUSES

Erectile Dysfunction: How ED Pills WorkImpotence, or widely known as erectile dysfunction, is a type of sexual dysfunction where the man is unable to have a firm erection for sexual intercourse or other sexual activity. An erection occurs when sexual arousal happens, and the nerve messages stimulate the penis and supplied with blood. Their sex performance is affected if they don’t have an erection and they will have reduced sexual desire. Often the causes of sexual dysfunction are due to physical and medical causes, but it can also be due to psychological causes. A normal erection can still be affected by blood flow, nerve supply, and hormones. Low testosterone levels can also result in erectile dysfunction, but what are the other physical causes of erectile dysfunction?

Endocrine diseases

The endocrine system is responsible for the production of hormones that regulate the individual’s metabolism, reproduction, sleep, mood, sexual function, etc. Endocrine diseases such as diabetes, hypogonadism, thyroid dysfunction, obesity, adrenal diseases, iatrogenic causes, and hyperprolactinemia can cause erectile dysfunction.

Neurological and nervous system disorders

Disorders connected to the brain and nerves affect the ability of the brain to communicate with the reproductive system, thus increasing the risk for possible erectile dysfunction. These disorders include Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, brain tumors, spinal tumors, stroke, temporal lobe epilepsy, etc.

Medication, substance and drug use

Taking certain medications can affect the person’s blood flow and since an erection occurs when the penis is supplied with blood, it can lead to erectile dysfunction. Antidepressants, tranquilizers, diuretics, antihistamines, antihypertensives, antiarrhythmics, muscle relaxants, hormones, anti-seizure medications, chemotherapy, etc., are types of medications that can cause ED. It can also be due to substance and drug use which includes alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, nicotine, amphetamines, etc.

Cardiac-related

The heart pumps the blood; and if its ability to pump the blood well normally is affected, it can cause impotence because if there is a lack of blood supply to the penis, it can’t cause an erection. Atherosclerosis, hypertension, and high cholesterol are only a few examples of cardiac-related problems that can restrict the blood flow to the penis which can lead to erectile dysfunction.

Psychological conditions

An emotional disorder can halt a person’s excitement. For a man to have an erection, sexual excitement plays a vital role for it to happen; and an emotional consider can be a hindrance. Depression, anxiety or severe anxiety, stress, fatigue, guilt, fear of intimacy, and substance abuse are associated with an increased risk for erectile dysfunction.   It is important to take note that prostate cancer does not cause erectile dysfunction, only prostate surgery, and radiation therapy to remove the cancer cells do. It is also possible for erectile dysfunction to occur during intercourse but have a full erection while masturbating or sleeping. This is related to performance anxiety which makes a man unable to achieve an erection while having sexual activity with a partner.

A GUIDE ON ERECTION PILLS

supplement for bedroom funWhen men suffer from sexual dysfunction, their self-esteem drops, and may feel embarrassed to consult others regarding their problems especially to a doctor. Male erection pills are proven to be safe and effective for men with healthy hearts but for those who have cardiovascular-related concerns, they should probably consult professionals before taking them as it may worsen their condition more. Male erection pills should be taken with caution as it is usually the first response for treatment to sexual dysfunctions—specifically erectile dysfunction. For male erection pills to be more successful, cutting their unhealthy lifestyles and substance abuse can help a lot. Quitting smoking or not smoking and drinking alcohol before sexual intercourse at least, can help stimulate a man’s erection. Regular exercise has been also proven to naturally help a man with his erection. Although other men aren’t getting any trouble with getting an erection now, they still might be able to be diagnosed with it in the future which is preventing erectile dysfunction before it happens is important. As the saying goes, “prevention is better than cure,” so, how can a man possibly prevent erectile dysfunction? The first step is to quit substance use. Illegal drugs, smoking, and alcohol use have a big impact on a man’s health and can result in different health complications including sexual dysfunctions. Exercising regularly and frequent visits to a doctor for consultation and checkups to prevent other health conditions is also a good action. If you’re already diagnosed with health conditions such as diabetes and heart-related problems, the good thing to do is to have it treated as soon as possible. Lastly, stress and other mental health problems also have an impact on your sexual dysfunction so seeking and getting help from a professional or undergoing therapy is the best thing to do to gain your natural mood back.

CONCLUSION

Preventing possible health concerns is just as important as preventing and treating sexual related problems. The complications can lead to embarrassment making the person’s self-esteem drop. You can also put yourself at risk for stress and anxiety and relationship problems or worse, the inability to create a family for not being able to help your wife bear a child. Male erection pills are effective and are proven to be able to help you with erectile problems.
